DRTT Forum • 6th Annual Conference held in Beijing
(China Think Tank News) “Development Research Think Tank (DRTT) Forum of China·6th Annual Conference” was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on December 15, 2019, under the guidance of Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), hosted by China Development Press and co-organized by Development Research Think Tank of China (Guoyan Culture and Media Group) and China Development Observation Press. The theme of the Forum was “Modernizing China Governance and New Growth Drivers of China’s Economy”.
Ma Jiantang, Party Secretary of the DRC；Ren Xianliang, Vice Chairman of Social Development Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairman of China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS) addressed and delivered keynote speeches at the Forum. Zhang Junkuo and Long Guoqiang, Vice President of the DRC attended the Forum and made keynote speeches. Long Guoqiang presided over the session.

Zhang Junkuo, Vice President of Development Research Center of the State Council released Research Series of Development Research Center of the State Council 2019.
At the Forum, Zhang Junkuo, Vice President of the DRC released research achievements of annual significant subjects and Research Series of the DRC 2019 and made an overall introduction. He said, Research Series of the DRC have been published by China Development Press for ten years consecutively with 143 categories and 148 volumes in total, which has already been well-known in the field of think tanks in China. This year14 research works, the essence of the important research results of the DRC in 2018-2019, are included in the series. In particular, Target Requirements and Strategic Priorities for High-Quality Development (Volume 1&2) and 40 Years of Tremendous Momentum: Review and Prospect of China’s Reform and Opening Up are DRC’s important research results. Other 12 works are DRC’s major research projects carried out by various research departments and outstanding research results of special and tendering projects, focusing on the important issues of China’s economic and social development, including regional coordinated development, urban-rural integration development, market economic system building, platform economy, digital transformation, government data integration, corporate governance, trade in services, Belt and Road construction, green development, and developing the country through think tanks, etc.
Leaders and experts of the relevant research departments of the DRC introduced the research works.
Then leaders from relevant research departments of the DRC and main participants of the research works made detailed introductions on the research series under the theme of “National Governance Modernization and High-quality Development” and “Deepening Reform and Opening Up and New Growth Drives of Economy”.
Long Guoqiang, Vice President of Development Research Center of the State Council delivered a keynote speech.
Ma Xiaohe, former Deputy Dean of Academy of Macroeconomic Research of National Development and Reform Commission and Distinguished Editorial Board Member of China Development Observation Press; Shen He, Deputy Director of Research Office of the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province; Zhang Yu, Deputy Director of Development Research Center of the People’s Government of Shandong Province; Xie Zicong, President of Zhongda Tongguang (Beijing) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. made speeches at this session, which was hosted by Che Haigang, Deputy Editor-in-chief of China Development Press, President of China Development Observation Press and Board Member of the DRTT.
Then it came the session with the theme of “Playing an Active Role of High-level Think Tanks, Boosting National Governance Modernization”. Li Yinquan, Director of Research Office, People’s Government of Jinlin Province; Chen Xiwen, Director of Administration for Market Regulation of Dongguan, Guangdong Province; Wang Zhiming, Deputy Director of Suzhou Bureau of Commerce, Jiangsu Province; Nie Min, Chairman of China Investment Consulting made speeches respectively. Zhang Shiyu, Vice President of China Development Press and President of the DRTT presided over the session. 
“The Road to Prosperity: Special Reports of 70th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China” was released and commemorative nameplates and certificates conferring ceremony were held.
During the Forum, “The Road to Prosperity: Special Reports of 70th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China” was released by China Development Observation Press. Liu Qi, Honorary Research Fellow of Counsellors’ Office of the State Council and Distinguished Editorial Board Member of China Development Observation Press made a keynote speech. Che Haigang introduced the report series and 30 selected case units (ten cities, ten rural areas and ten enterprises) were awarded with commemorative nameplates and certificates. During seven months, “The Road to Prosperity: Special Reports of 70th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China” interviewed authoritative think tank experts such as Lu Baifu, Zhang Junkuo, Long Guoqiang, Lin Zhaomu, Zhang Zhuoyuan, etc., and conducted in-depth and detailed research interviews of “ten cities, ten rural areas and ten enterprises” in 18 provinces. The series consist of 40 reports with over 600,000 words in total, which represent a miniature history of China’s economic and social development. The reports selected in the publication of The Road to Prosperity: Oral Records and Classical Cases of 70th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China has been formally published by China Development Press. The session was presided over by Yang Liangmin, Editor-in-chief of China Development Observation Press and Board Member of the DRTT.
Sub-forum of “Development of China’s Capital Market and Listed Companies”
In addition, the sub-forum was held with the theme of “Development of China Capital Market and Listed Companies”. Speakers had in-depth discussions on the issues such as “Development Prospects of China’s Capital Market and Listed Companies”, “Development Trend of China Financial Market and Capital Market in 2020”, and “Governance of China’s Listed Companies and Sustainable Development in 2020”.
Around 300 delegates attended the Forum, including officials from related ministries of the central government, local governments at all levels, representatives from various think tanks, leading entrepreneurs and media.
It was introduced that DRTT Forum has brought into full play the role of think tanks since it was launched in 2014. The forum has in particular played an active role in interpreting national policies, publicizing the think tank voices, promoting scientific decision-making, and serving economic and social sound development. At present, DRTT Forum has become the iconic forum in the field of domestic think tanks, and its all-media influence is at the forefront of the ranking of the Chinese academic forums.
